About Our Strong Foundation August 1991: Marubeni Automotive Group acquired the business of UD Nissan Diesel Truck & Bus distribution in Australia, which commenced in 1972. The Marubeni Automotive Group is continuously expanding its business aiming to be the core organization for a variety of automotive industry related businesses in the Oceania region. The Marubeni Automotive Group is the Vehicle Department of Marubeni Corporation (headquarters in Japan). Marubeni Automotive Group has a global network of 51 subsidiaries and affiliated companies worldwide and is dealing with virtually all aspects of the automotive industry, including import-export of automotive products, distributorships, dealerships, assembly/manufacturing plants, financial leasing and rental companies. The Marubeni Corporation is now one of Japan's leading general trading houses (sogo shosha), active in a variety of industries which include textiles, foods, information processing and equipment, materials, machinery, metals, construction, energy, chemicals, project development and business consulting. It is a multinational firm with a network of over 200 offices and 600 subsidiary companies worldwide. History 1972: UD Nissan Diesel Truck & Bus distribution commences in Australia 1991: Marubeni Automotive Group acquires UD Nissan Diesel Truck & Buses. At the time, the national distributor of UD Nissan Diesel Trucks in Australia, UD Trucks (Oceania) Pty Ltd, was established as a subsidiary company of Marubeni Corporation. 1993: UD Trucks (Oceania) Pty Ltd establishes Exxel Pty Ltd. and starts the business of importing and wholesaling of Japanese medium duty and heavy duty truck parts to the aftermarket. 1992 - 1999: Continuous sales growth of UD Nissan Diesel Trucks. 1999: UD Nissan Diesel Truck sales reaches 768 units which results in 6.5% of total market (Trucks with GVM of 7.5t or more). 1999: UD Trucks (Oceania) Pty Ltd establishes Metro Truck Australia Pty. Ltd. as the 1st UD Nissan Diesel Truck dealer (company owned). 2000: Marubeni Auto Oceania Pty Ltd. streamlines its corporate structure. Exxel Pty Ltd. and Metro Truck Australia Pty Ltd. become divisions of Marubeni Auto Oceania Pty Ltd. 2001: Marubeni Auto Oceania further streamlines its structure by transferring all its activities under UD Trucks (Oceania) Pty Ltd. The four divisions include Finance & Administration, UD Trucks, Exxel parts and Metro Truck Centre. 2002: Exxel Parts changes its name to PartsPeek. 2003: Metro Truck Centre changes its name to Sydney UD. 2007: April – Nissan Diesel Motor Co. Ltd Japan takes over 100% of UD Trucks (Oceania) Pty Ltd from Marubeni Corporation, Japan. UD Trucks Australia Pty Ltd is the result with Volvo Group being the parent company. 2007: May – Marubeni Corporation sells PartsPeek division during March to SMP Group Services Pty Ltd. SMP Group take over ownership of PartsPeek on 1st May 2007, which becomes Parts Peek (Aust.) Pty Ltd. 2007: November – Miranda site sold and new owners due to take possession end of 2007. UD Trucks parts division relocate operations to Volvo Trucks, Minto site. UD Trucks engineering, administration and sales division relocate to Volvo Trucks Chullora site. 2007: November - PartsPeek relocates to new warehouse and office complex at Moorebank. 2008: Parts Peek (Aust.) Pty Ltd commences marketing a select range of accessories. About PartsPeek PartsPeek is one of the leading importers & distributors of truck parts to suit Japanese commercial vehicles, for the aftermarket in Australia. Product is sourced from Japan, Taiwan, Kingdom of Thailand, New Zealand, Australia and other countries in the region. Japanese Trucks supported in our range of products include vehicles manufactured by Isuzu, Hino, Mitsubishi/Fuso, UD Nissan Diesel, Mazda/Ford (T series/Trader - diesel), Toyota (Dyna – diesel) and Daihatsu (Delta – diesel). Office and main warehouse is located in Moorebank NSW (south/west suburb of Sydney). Distribution warehouse operations (supporting large inventories of PartsPeek products) are strategically located in major cities to ensure essential parts are close to customers: Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth. Resellers are located nationwide in most major localities, some carrying inventory of popular products and able to obtain other products very quickly. Products distributed by PartsPeek are marketed and sold under the Exxel and Exxel Premium brand. No products are branded “PartsPeek”. PartsPeek are also national distributors for Exedy Clutch, Powerdown (Shock absorbers), NSK (bearings) and other known brands and products. PartsPeek provides resellers with an electronic catalogue system enabling fast interpretation of required items. The catalogue system is the envy of all our competitors and is clearly the leading reference for the Japanese commercial aftermarket. A CD catalogue update is issued around 3 times per year. The catalogue will shortly be available within a secure area of this web site. PartsPeek (unlike all its’ competitors) does not Retail product. Customers must establish a trading account, and operate within acceptable parameters. Having been operating for over 15 years, PartsPeek has achieved substantial growth with the range of products continually expanding. Products are continually monitored for suitability, performance and reliability. To ensure quality for critical components, many are sourced from the very manufacturers in Japan that manufactured the component for the original vehicles. PartsPeek is one of the leaders in the aftermarket and will continue to be the benchmark which others strive to achieve. |
